Two teachers in Ogun State have been rewarded with One Million Naira each for their outstanding performance in National competitions.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state made the announcement at a special reception for the two teachers during the state’s weekly Executive Council meeting in Abeokuta.
The duo, Femi Adaramola, a Secondary schools teacher at Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro and Alhaja Nusirat Fakorede, a Principal at Sagamu High School had emerged winners in this year’s President’s Teachers and Schools’ Awards after competing with others from different parts of the country.
Adaramola won the 2018 overall best teacher In Nigeria, while Alhaja Fakorede finished sixth in the Administrators category.
At the end of the competition, the outstanding teachers got the Presidential handshakes with Adaramola, an Agricultural Science teacher presented with a brand new car by the organisers, while Alhaja Fakorede equally received various gifts for her performance.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun who presided over the state’s weekly Executive Council meeting said hard-work and diligence in the state’s workforce will not go unrecognized.
Governor Amosun said the achievements of the two teachers had again put the state on the National map.
The two teachers, attributed the success to the favourable working condition facilitated by the state government.
