The much awaited international friendly went down on Tuesday at the Dnipro Arena, it was host Ukraine who forced Nigeria’s Super Eagles to a 2-2 draw in a keenly contested encounter.
Super Eagles Franco-German gaffer Gernot Rohr started newly invited Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo in the starting eleven and it paid off as the youngster opened the scoring earlier in the game with a tap in after a nice footwork from Samuel Kalu and Alex Iwobi.
Despite the pressure from the home team, it was Nigeria that scored again from the penalty spot through striker Victor Osimhen after Kalu was brought down in the penalty area.
Ukraine piled more pressure on the Eagles in the second half and they were able to score two quickfire goals in the space of 2 minute which got the Nigeria side unaware.
Apart from Aribo, Rohr also gave a debut to Girondin Bordeaux forward Josh Maja who replaced inform LOSC Lille forward , Paok midfielder Anderson Esiti was also introduced for Iwobi.
